"What am I Dying for?": Exchange Trip to Japan

追溯犧牲真相:日本交流團

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Okinawa, the warfare which has caused the greatest casualties during the Second World War. It is high time for us to look into the defining feature of the Battle - the widespread practice of collective suicide. We will go on an exchange trip to Okinawa, interacting with the survivors and visiting Battle-related sites. We hope to examine whether the suicidal act was voluntary and whether such practice has implications of human rights violation.

When we speak of child soldiers, one can easily think of armed children, but perhaps nothing more than that can be recalled. This exhibition aims to deepen our understanding of this issue.
